IPBC Partners are working together to connect and share expertise on blue carbon with the global community through events, workshops and knowledge exchange sessions.
Hosts(s): Australia, with participation from Indonesia and the Pacific
You’re invited to join the event ‘Designing blue carbon policy for sustainable outcomes’ on Nature Day at the Australian Pavilion. Australian, Indonesian and Pacific island officials will be discussing: “How can blue carbon policies be designed to drive sustainable and effective change?”
As governments around the world step-up action on climate change, nature-based solutions – including coastal blue carbon ecosystems – are increasingly seen as a crucial element to reaching global targets. This event brings together experts from Australia, Indonesia and the Pacific to showcase regional action and collaboration implementing blue carbon policies, and discuss how policies can be designed to drive sustainable and effective change.
This event will also launch two innovative products developed by Australia to enhance blue carbon management: a technical advice manual for reporting coastal wetlands in national greenhouse gas inventories; and a policy training course.
